L: Teacher
I: myself

L: What would you like to do later on in your life?
I: *creepy smile + laugh*
L: *weird look*
I: *AoT salute* I want to join the Survey Corps to kill Titans.
L: What?
I: For Humanity?
L: *awkward and scared smile* ok?
I: It’s an anime reference.
L: So…you want to spend the rest of your life reading these Japanese comics?
I: *twitch* You watch anime and read manga. But yeah, it would be fun if I could waste my life doing that.
L: But it would be difficult to make money out of it?
I: Meh, they need translators.
L: So you want to learn Japanese?
I: Japanese? It’s a difficult language to learn, don’t you think?
L: Yes, but you should learn it if you want to make money with anime.
I: Or I could translate it from English to Dutch because it’s hard to find some series in Dutch.
L: Why would you want to translate them into Dutch?
I: Because when I watch anime these days, they are Dutch dubbed, which I really hate. A few years ago they still had English dubbed anime with Dutch subs.
L: Wait…what’s the difference between subbed and dubbed?
I: Subbed is Japanese with English subtitles. Dubbed is what they do these days with Disney Channel.
L: I see. So you prefer dubbed over subbed, or am I wrong?
I: No. I don’t like subbed. And I don’t like it at all when I watch tv and they give us English dubbed anime with Dutch subtitles.
L: Why?
I: Because sometimes the translations are so wrong. It makes me think: where the heck did they even find these people?
L: So you don’t like it because it makes your show less fun to watch.
I: Indeed. I prefer watching English subbed because the Japanese language is a fun language to hear.
L: They don’t show Japanese shows on tv, do they?
I: I don’t know, probably not.
L: So where do you find these shows?
I: The internet. I watch them online.
L: I see. Any other reasons you like the English subtitles besides the fact Japanese is a funny language?
I: It’s a good way to improve my vocabulary and sometimes you learn a word in Japanese.
L: Can you give examples of that?
I: Well, I know some words, but I forgot most of them now, probably because of the nerves.
L: You don’t seem nervous.
I: I won’t do crazy anime stuff if I weren’t nervous.
L: *smirk* So, what words did you learn?
I: Erm…konnichiwa, arigato, baka and akuma are the ones I can think of right now.
L: Baka? What does it mean? It sounds funny.
I: It means ‘idiot’.
L: Oh…you baka! I like it.
I: *grin*
L: Good. I think it’s time to end it here. I’d say, good luck reading your Japanese comics.
I: Thanks. Enjoy your holidays.
I really did this on my exam today :O (still can't believe it myself, but yup, I did...and it's awesome)

So I had to do my oral exam today...English.
And afterwards there was still some time left, so my teacher decided to ask me what I'd like to do later on in my life...and I kind of kicked ass! :3

Note: to avoid confusion: I like English subbed :3 (because I said I don't like subs, but only Dutch subs because they're poo)
